Profits of the group’s companies grow by nearly 8%
Growth in the publishing area, star project 2007
The companies that comprise the cooperative group Cultura 03 closed 2006 with a turnover of 20,235,184 euros. The group is made up of Sàpiens Publicacions, publisher of the magazines Sàpiens, Nat, Descobrir Cuina, Descobrir Catalunya and Altaïr; the publishing company Ara Llibres, the cooperative of publishing services Critèria, the graphic arts cooperative Gramagraf and the audiovisual production company Batabat. The results, which meet the group’s objectives in this area, shows a growth in profit of nearly 8%, a total of 1.5 million euros over the 2005 figure.
The group finalised the budget for 2007 with a forecasted growth in turnover of more than 12%. The group also intends to work on strengthening and consolidating the structure of the group and its companies and to begin new projects. Among the group’s most significant ambitions is their intention to expand and diversify the publishing area currently represented by Ara Llibres. This would involve increasing the publication of non-fiction, creating new imprints and, among other things, a strengthened commitment to internationalisation.
