The proposed collective objective for the next four years is to consolidate the group as a leader in the cultural industry and in cooperativism in Catalonia.
On the 16th of May, the assembly of the executive councils of the cooperatives of the Cultura 03 cooperative group chose Maika Pascual as the new president of the group for the next four years. Maika Pascual, a member of the Cultura 03 central services cooperative, relieved Rafael Moreno, president of the Group since February 2006.
During her term, the new president proposes as a collective objective the consolidation of Cultura 03 as a group of reference in the cultural industry and in cooperativism in Catalonia. “We have to promote our differentiating feature, our dynamic, open and, above all, participative enthusiasm,” she says. In the short term, she will focus her attention on the process of defining the future corporate headquarters of Cultura 03 in a 9,000 m2 building shared with the cooperative Abacus in El Prat del Llobregat, which will go into operation at the end of 2009: “Cultura 03 should have the headquarters that we all want and that the project deserves. A headquarters open to everyone, a meeting point for cooperativism and culture in Catalonia, where everyone has and can find their space,” she said in conclusion.
These objectives are in keeping with the broad working goals of Cultura 03, managed by Oriol Soler, which are defined in the 2006-2009 Strategic Plan presented at the Assembly of Workers last November. The Cultura 03 Group –Gramagraf, Ara, Sàpiens Publicacions, Batabat, Contrapunto and Ràdio Fusté– closed 2006 with a turnover of 20 million euros and 1.5 million in profits. Among the most important projects, in addition in the process of defining the new corporate headquarters in El Prat and the internationalisation of all its companies, is the upcoming launch of the magazine Time Out Barcelona next October.
