More pages, more offers, more practical information and even more to discover.
This is how the magazine Descobrir Catalunya, the senior member among the leading general-interest publications in Catalan, introduces itself. It comes out in its totally renewed form on Thursday 20th September with a special launch of 45,000 copies. Descobrir Catalunya, published by Sàpiens Publicacions of the Cultura 03 Group and edited by the journalist Joan Morales celebrates its tenth birthday this year, after a decade of contributing to encouraging a new way of getting to know and love the region.
“Your country like you’ve never seen it before” is the core motto of the magazine, which seeks to reinforce its ability to surprise and encourage discovery with a new more agile and functional design, more pages (up to 144) and new sections that maintain and strengthen the diligence of its reporting, and the emotion and love for the region, the people, and the customs that characterise the publication. The new Descobrir, which devotes its cover story to the “lost Pyrenees” continues to boast prominent names among its collaborators, such as Narcís Comadira, Pep Coll and Ernest Costa, and has also improved its graphics. Images figure more heavily in the new design and have been submitted by some of the country’s best photographers such as Oriol Alemany, and the illustrations and cartography are complemented by exclusive 3D maps. Practical information also plays a more visible role throughout the magazine and specifically with a practical guide containing recommendations on the best restaurants and accommodation in the country as well as very detailed routes for the whole family to enjoy as well as others especially intended for children. A new character, La Xiruca, will help readers recognise which activities and routes are especially suitable for the littlest ones.
