With the cover story entitled “A Village Inside the City”, Time Out Barcelona dedicates an extensive report to the town of Gràcia this week.
“Sílvia Marimon went for a walk through Gràcia and instead of a neighbourhood she found a village in which the most fiercely modern shops live side by side with hundred-year-old businesses, and where the prices of flats threaten to drive out the area’s youngest neighbours.” This is just a small preview of what can be read this week about one of the neighbourhoods with the most personality in the city. In addition to a tour around the best restaurants, shops and nightspots, the article closes with a list of “Eleven Great Things about Gràcians”. Just one example: “Voting to change the name of Rius i Taulet square to Vila de Gràcia. The neighbours re-baptised a square that for many will always be known as the clock square.”
