On Friday 11th April at 10:45 p.m., Canal 33 will show the documentary Diumenge a les cinc (Sunday at Five), a Batabat production co-produced with TVC, Euskal Telebista-K2000 and in collaboration with Tobar Productions.
The documentary describes the role of prisoners in the Northern Ireland peace process through two ex-prisoners: Séanna Walsh, a former member of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), and Billy McQuiston, a former member of the loyalist Ulster Defence Association (UDA). It is a portrait at once personal and collective that looks at the role of prisoners, not only leading up to the Peace Agreement, but also in keeping the peace today. In addition to the two men, the documentary also features family members, colleagues, mediators, prison administrators and the families of victims, among others. Diumenge a les cinc was recently selected in the competitive category “documental report” at the Documenta festival in Madrid which will be held from 2nd to 10th May. It was also selected at the Belfast Film Festival where it can be seen on 19th April, as well as at the South African International Film Festival, which will take place in October. In Barcelona it was shown on 9th March at the Zinemaldia festival. More about Diumenge a les 5 More about Batabat |
