Nat publishes a Catalan biologist’s experiences of studying orang-utans in Borneo
Joan de la Malla spent two months in the jungles of the island of Borneo in Indonesia studying and photographing the great apes. Nat recounts his experiences in this corner of Asia where the deforestation of tropical forests is threatening the orang-utan’s survival.

In December’s issue, Nat also follows scientists who research the Montseny newt and carefully selects the ten most valued medicinal plants in history. The magazine explains why the level of the oceans isn’t the same throughout the year and takes a look at the ancient geological formations of the Arizona desert. And, exclusively in Nat, 12 experts speak about their environmental wishes for 2007.
